GEP launches its “alumni connect” group

UK Trade Investments Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP) launched its Alumni Connect initiative at Home House in London on Wednesday, August 19.

The GEP attracts world class, sustainable early-stage technology companies and entrepreneurs to the UK. In return, the GEP offers the insight, trusted networks and experience of its Team which is made up of internationally successful entrepreneurs who seek to help these client companies accelerate into global markets from a UK hub.

The GEP has enjoyed considerable success since its inception in 2004, and has helped nearly 60 companies migrate into the UK. It has therefore decided to establish this Alumni Connect network for these companies in order to develop a platform to help their business development and growth activities. GEP will seek to signpost the Alumni Connect member companies (who are GEP clients after all) to relevant networks able to provide business opportunities, customers, investors etc, as well as strategic counselling by the GEP team.

The Alumni Connect network got off to a great start with over 30 companies attending this networking event and a whole range of topics were discussed from channels to market to early stage funding; and from regional strengths to relocating to the UK. The success of the evening demonstrated the need for such a group and helps further the GEP’s aim to make the UK a pre-eminent location for technology companies and entrepreneurs to establish a global business.
